DESIGNING A FASHION COLLECTION
As part of their fashion, textile and graphic design classes, second-year students on the Fashion Design/Pattern Making and Fashion/Textile Design and Fashion Design & Business courses at LISAA Paris worked in partnership with Noiju, a women’s activewear brand.
FASHION AND TEXTILE DESIGN WORKSHOP
During a creative workshop, the young designers designed a line of sportswear for winter 2018, on one of three themes that define the brand: the French Riviera, nature or sport.
This mini collection is made up of three total looks complete with accessories: one pair of shorts, one pair of leggings, two t-shirts, one vest top, two bra/underwear sets and one windcheater that can be worn for sport or for daily wear, in a mix and match approach. Print-wise, the trend follows a geometric spirit, which is inspired by nature, and is discrete and refined.
Alongside this, Fashion & Textile Design students designed a mini collection of interior decor accessories consisting of a range of scarves, cushions, bolsters, wallpaper, packaging, notebooks, storage, lengths of fabric, wall coverings, curtains, etc.
FUTURE FASHION AND DECOR CAPSULE COLLECTIONS
Following the workshop, all of the designs were subject to votes from the Noliju judging panel, in order to be assessed according to the following criteria: originality, fashion and business appeal, the Noliju DNA and target market, and value for money.
In the end, the brand chose the designs it wished to launch in production and sell in their retail outlets.
