Extending a family project
La Scala is a place steeped in history. Changing from a cabaret to a pornographic cinema, this exceptional venue was bought by Frédéric Biessy with the aim of turning it into a space dedicated to contemporary performance, including dance, circus and theatre. He invested in this project with his wife, and parents-in-law, who will cook at La Scala’s restaurant. We wanted to extend this family project with the concept of the house. We have created a place to invite visitors to push the door to intimacy and curiosity.
A GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT FOR LA SCALA
Fifth year students in Interior Architecture and Design at LISAA Paris worked on the renovation project of the Parisian cafe-theatre La Scala. In collaboration with the show producer Frédéric Biessy, director of La Scala, students created a global design project, covering visual identity right up to furniture design.
