Studio Architecture & Design: a talent accelerator
Designed as a bridging year, the Studio Architecture & Design program offers an accelerated and personalized pathway enabling students to acquire dual competencies in Interior Architecture and Design in order to enter Year 4 or Year 5 of the Master’s Degree at LISAA Architecture & Design Paris through parallel admission.
This intensive program is intended for students who have already validated a Bac+3 or Bac+4 in either Interior Architecture or Design. It allows them to strengthen the complementary fundamentals of both disciplines, enhance their technical and conceptual skills, and develop their creative universe.

The Studio Architecture & Design Year adapts to your background to maximize your academic progression.
Students benefit from a privileged learning environment with an individual academic tutor and small classes limited to 20 students. This supportive and personalized framework fosters steady and structured development.
With 2.5 days of classes per week, the schedule is optimized to allow students to work alongside their studies or develop personal projects.
A pathway to Year 4 or Year 5 of the Master’s Degree
Upon completion of this year:
- Students holding a Bac+3 may enter Year 4 of the Master’s Degree at LISAA
- Students holding a Bac+4 may, depending on their progression, enter directly into Year 5 of the Master’s Degree, which may be completed as a work-study program
Interior Architecture
- Understanding of space and volumes from both functional and aesthetic perspectives
- Ability to analyze a site and produce architectural surveys
- Introduction to technical and regulatory standards in interior design
- Mastery of representation tools (plans, sections, elevations, perspectives)
- Knowledge of materials, their applications and implementation
- Sensitivity to atmosphere, lighting and circulation within space
Design
- Mastery of drawing fundamentals, sketching and graphic representation
- Creative abilities in object, furniture and installation design
- Knowledge of key references in contemporary design and visual culture
- Mastery of 2D/3D digital tools for modeling and project presentation
- Ability to develop a conceptual approach and usage scenario
- Capacity to articulate and present a professional design intention
Program structure and pace
Admission requirements
The Studio Architecture & Design Year is intended for candidates from architecture, interior architecture, design or related disciplines who have completed:
- A Bac+3 (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in a related field
- A Bac+4 (Master’s Year 1, State Diploma in Architecture, or equivalent advanced program)
Profiles are assessed individually. Depending on background and progression, this year enables entry into Year 4 or Year 5 of the Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture & Product Design at LISAA.
Strong motivation, a clear professional project and an interest in studio-based collaborative and intensive work are essential.
How to apply to the program?
Admission is based on an oral interview supported by the presentation of a project portfolio.
The interview and portfolio review assess motivation, professional objectives and the ability to mobilize previously acquired knowledge and skills within the framework of the program.
For applications to the Studio Architecture & Design Year, all fields of study are considered. If the candidate does not hold a validated Bac+3 in Interior Architecture or Design, they must demonstrate solid technical knowledge and competencies in these fields.
Admissions are open from October to August for a September intake. Applications are processed within a maximum of three weeks after receipt of a complete file. Enrolment remains open subject to availability.
By way of exception, enrolment may be authorised after the start of the program, subject to assessment of the student’s ability to catch up on missed coursework, within a maximum of two months after the program start date.

The Studio year prepares each student to enter the advanced cycle of the Interior Architecture & Design program while supporting personal and creative exploration.
The objectives are to:
- Encourage experimentation and creative freedom within a supportive academic framework
- Develop creativity and personal expression through drawing (observation, sketching, spatial drawing, model-making, life drawing) and project design fundamentals
- Provide individualized support based on prior background (design or interior architecture)
- Strengthen foundations in graphic representation, artistic culture and project methodology
- Broaden exposure to applied arts disciplines to enrich visual culture and creative sensitivity
- Develop the ability to formalize, structure and present a project both orally and in writing
- Prepare students for entry into Year 4 by providing competencies aligned with the requirements of the Level 7 RNCP certification pathway
- Through active pedagogy, the program encourages experimentation, the emergence of personal style, and progressive mastery of the tools and methodologies of the designer and interior architect.
LISAA’s pedagogy is oriented toward student progression and professional integration.
The program mobilizes varied methods:
- Courses delivered by active industry professionals
- Project-based pedagogy through individual and collaborative professional simulations based on real or representative cases
- Oral and written project presentations evaluated by instructors and, when applicable, partner professionals
- Individual academic follow-up to support competency acquisition and professional development
- Industry conferences and alumni talks
- Internship periods integrated into the program to develop practical experience
Students are assessed through continuous assessment throughout the academic year.
All subjects are evaluated through project submissions, oral presentations, written assignments and other assessment formats.
End-of-semester assessments allow evaluation of student progression and validation of progression to the next academic stage.
