HOW TO REINVENT THE OFTEN DARK AND UNUSED SPACE OF THE STAIRWELL?
Based on the notions of balance, lightness and movement, PLOM is an artistic and artisanal light, which is aimed at a detail-orientated target market wishing to create a particular atmosphere in their stairwell.
Two rectangular forms are linked to each other by a thread, one above the other, and stay horizontal thanks to a weight attached to the end of the wire which extends to a couple of centimetres above the ground.
This invention rethinks the plumb line in an aesthetic way, with the aim of filling the void of the stairwell. The rectangular forms that echo the shapes of the stairs fill this void, thus bringing balance, as when we go down the stairs we are incurably attracted to the void. Furthermore, PLOM can be adapted to public stairwells, lighting up these dark zones that are often forgotten about.
All in all, the stairwell seems to be the most suitable place for this ceiling light. It was specifically designed to not create a dazzling light thanks to the light built into the forms, all whilst being sufficiently bright.
