Innovative landscape design projects at Jardins Jardin Paris Festival
From 2nd to 5th June, students from the Interior Architecture and Design department at LISAA Paris will exhibit at the 13th edition of the Jardins Jardin festival in the Tuileries. Entitled “Chaud-Off”, the exhibition brings together a collection of projects designed to turn the urban garden into a source of protection and refuge during a heat wave.
Chaud-Off
This year, third year students from the Interior Architecture and Design course at LISAA worked on the theme “Chaud-Off”. Led by designers Bruno Tainturier and Assia Quetin, in partnership with Balcoon, the students proposed 13 creative projects aiming to transform terraces and urban gardens into comfortable spaces protecting from summer heat waves.
Balcoon Competition
Garance Bourbier and Andréa Pérelle’s project, Oasis, was awarded the jury prize for the Balcoon competition. The two students created a plant-covered structure to which a stretched canvas is affixed which, through balls made from clay, refreshes the user.
Balcoon is a landscaping design studio that is both current and poetic: it designs, produces and maintains landscaping equipment for terraces and balconies for corporate and private clients: balconies, terraces, roof terraces, rockeries, courtyards, patios, shared access or third party premises, etc.
Balcoon is a long-standing partner of LISAA. Every year, it accompanies students in their reflection and preparation for the Jardins Jardin exhibition at the Tuileries.
The Project Village
For 2016, a new space is focusing on innovation. With the new Project Village, located on the riverside terrace, each step of innovation and experimentation—from a student project to a prototype in the process of being made—is brought together in the same place. Linking the innovation competition, the school exhibition and the prototypes of outdoor design, it is a meeting point for students and professionals who are designing the objects of tomorrow, and designers from different disciplines.
