Fashion is a sector in constant evolution, disrupted by new trends, technologies, consumption modes, and emerging concerns. The role of the stylist is to make sense of all these changes by integrating these new practices related to the evolution of their environment into their creations.

Fast Fashion : Stylists must adapt with agility and adaptability, as brands give more importance to creativity to stand out.

New Technologies : Their use allows companies to further personalize their customer experience. Stylists are better able to understand their targets and adapt their creations. This also concerns production technologies. The challenge lies in the ability to use technological tools in service of the sector's professions while preserving manual craftsmanship.

Customer Experience : Companies focus their strategy on customer experience. Therefore, the stylist must know how to work in collaboration with all support services. The advent of social media has also changed consumer behaviors. Product co-creation methods are emerging, allowing companies to juggle between supply marketing (from creators alone) and demand marketing (arising from field feedback).

Multichannel Distribution : Distribution modes are diversifying, enhancing the customer experience. Online commerce is growing, bringing forth e-commerce giants who are breaking market norms. To counter this, the stylist's work focused on the proposition, choice, and pairing of products must be ever more imaginative to offer consumers what they expect according to their values.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) : With fashion being the second most polluting industry on the planet, consumers are now seeking products that are respectful of the environment and humanity. Industry players are thus focusing on research and innovation: new materials that are less energy-intensive in natural resources and have no negative environmental impacts, upcycling, etc.

What Skills Will You Acquire?

This training enables the acquisition of numerous creative and technical skills, offering the stylist the opportunity to engage in an innovative, agile, and collaborative approach. It's also an opportunity to reduce the environmental impact associated with product development (reduction of prototypes and materials, travel, shipments, zero-waste approach in production) and to develop inclusive design (for small and large sizes) through custom avatars.

The skills gained during this bachelor's degree will prepare you well for entering professional life. Upon completion of the course, you will know how to :

Define the creative brief of a collection in line with the brand's positioning.
Develop and structure a collection.
Lead the realization of a collection, from its prototyping to its design.
Promote a collection to internal teams, partners, decision-makers, and/or fashion professionals.

How Does This Bachelor's Degree Work?

The Bachelor in Fashion Design Styling - 3D Design Specialization spans three years. It is possible to join the program from the first year or during the course.

The Stylist - 3D Design training is offered in French or English.

You can extend your Stylist - 3D Design training with the Master in Fashion Design and Brand Creation at LISAA Paris or the International Fashion Director Master, the second year of which takes place at NABA in Milan.

For Which Professional Certification?

At the end of this training, you will obtain the following RNCP certification:

Fashion Designer Stylist - IDAA-LISAA - Level 6, registered in the RNCP under the number 35659 by the decision of the General Director of France Compétences dated June 17, 2021.

Equivalence and Bridging

Have you already obtained an RNCP title of a similar level and specialty elsewhere and are interested in our title? You can request a full or partial equivalence. The request must be made via the contact page.

Admission is possible in the 2nd or 3rd year if a first year of a similar Bachelor's program has been validated at another institution, subject to validation by the educational manager.

For Which Careers ?

What can you do after a fashion school? Depending on the size of the organization they work in, a stylist is required to work in a team with a pattern maker and manufacturers, or to assume these various roles themselves. In the latter case, they will delegate part of their activities to service providers and manage their coordination. Therefore, a stylist needs to be versatile and multidisciplinary. Consequently, the environment in which the fashion stylist/designer operates will influence not only their scope of action and assigned tasks but also the title of their position and their place in the production chain.

A fashion stylist/designer can work in various sectors: clothing industry, wholesale trade, retail trade, production of films, videos, TV programs, sound recordings, and music publishing, publishing, press, etc., for fashion brands, couture houses, style offices, design offices, purchasing centers, department stores, online sales sites, textile manufacturing companies, leather, etc.

Content of the Bachelor in Fashion Design Styling - 3D Design Specialty

The first year of this fashion bachelor's program is common to all the Bachelor's programs in the Fashion Design stream at LISAA Paris. It is at the end of the first year that you can choose the stream that suits you best.

The training spans 3 years (6 semesters), with teaching hours distributed as follows:

1st year: 651 hours
2nd year: 646 hours
3rd year: 557 hours

This amounts to a total of 1 854 hours over the three years.

This volume includes hours of in-person and e-learning training, time dedicated to evaluations, group work, and workshops. Other events related to the training (conferences, speed recruiting, professional events related to the fashion sector) are organized throughout the year and are added to the above training hours.

The Methods Employed

In-person Classes: These are conducted either with the whole class or in groups based on chosen options, in the school's premises. The schedule is communicated during the pre-entry period in September so that each learner can organize their timetable effectively.

E-learning Classes: These are delivered online via the BlackBoard Learn platform. Learners are informed about the availability of their courses through emails from teachers or the educational team or during in-person classes. E-learning classes are also included in the timetable given to learners.

Non-linear Scheduling: Timetables are designed in a non-linear fashion to better prepare learners for the business world.

Multiple Instructors: Learners may have several instructors for the same Units of Instruction throughout the year, providing different perspectives on the work done during classes.

Pedagogical Objectives and Evaluation Criteria: These are communicated to learners at the launch of each project in different subjects.

Varied Pedagogical Methods: To enable learners to acquire all the competencies certified by the targeted qualification. The pedagogy is designed to support, empower, and maximize learner autonomy through different teaching methods:

Lectures : Theoretical teachings.
Flipped Classroom : Learners prepare a topic in advance, which is then worked on and deepened individually during in-person classes.
E-Learning : The school provides programs and tutorials via the BlackBoard Learn platform.
Blended Learning : E-learning complements in-person teaching.
Workshops : Learners explore a theme or a qualification acquisition in depth through an intensive program over a limited time.
Project-based Learning : Projects are designed across several subjects and/or internal training or with partner schools over an extended period (semester).
Practical Cases : Learners tackle real-life case studies provided by partner companies, responding to professional needs.
Autonomy : Scheduled autonomous working times allow learners to independently work on various topics covered in classes.
Professionalization : A dedicated team provides services during specified times; regular conferences on sector-related themes are offered.

In-person Class Approach: Majority of courses are delivered in-person, detailed in the course syllabus (UE), and outlined in the pedagogical progression plan.

Course Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation Modalities: These are communicated to teachers and graders through the syllabus. Teachers and/or graders assist learners in completing and following up on evaluative tasks.

BlackBoard Learn Technical Assistance: Managed by the digital learning manager, ensuring that every learner can access all documents and educational resources. Teachers and instructors are encouraged to upload their course materials onto the Blackboard Learn platform.

Pedagogical Assistance: Provided by the program manager and/or pedagogical coordinator. The school offers the following services to learners:

Photo studio and computers
Fablabs : Textile enhancement workshop (Laser Cutting, Digital Embroidery, plotters, presses), Accessories workshop, Knitwear workshop, Screen printing workshop.
Modeling rooms and sewing machines, overlockers, cover stitch machines, accessible throughout the year for autonomous use.
Three technical monitors (Assembly, Knitwear, and Textile Enhancement) are available for learners by appointment.

Evaluation Modalities

Continuous Assessment Throughout the Course: Continuous work plays a particularly important role in assessing a learner's progress. Pedagogical evaluations, aligned with professional expectations, will be a regular part of the course. These tasks are to be completed individually or in groups.

Third-Year Evaluations: These are part of the certification process and are carried out according to the criteria and modalities described in the title's reference framework. These tasks are to be completed individually.

Semester 1:

Continuous work evaluated regularly in different UE (Unit of Education) of the course.
A half-day comprehensive examination (DST) at the end of Semester 1.

Semester 2:

Continuous work evaluated regularly.
End-of-year jury (4 teachers).

Semester 3:

Continuous work evaluated regularly.
A full-day DST at the end of Semester 3.

Semester 4:

Continuous work evaluated regularly.
End-of-year jury (4 teachers).

Semester 5:

Continuous work evaluated regularly.
A validating jury (2 teachers).

Semester 6:

Continuous work evaluated regularly.
4 continuous assessment validating evaluations.
Two validating juries (5 teachers).
A final validating jury for the end of studies (3 to 6 professionals + one teacher).

Certificate Validation :

The assessment of work will be continuous throughout the year.

Individual evaluations will be carried out throughout the year, in written forms, depending on the subjects or competencies to be validated. Any unjustified absence from an evaluation will be sanctioned with a "Not Acquired".

Eligibility Conditions for the “Responsable Marketing & Communication” Certification Jury :

Candidates registered and having validated all competency blocks are presented to the certification jury of the Title.

To Validate the RNCP Certification :

A competency block is acquired only if all evaluations have been successfully completed. Competency blocks are cumulative. Obtaining the certification is conditional upon the validation of all competency blocks.

Deliberation of the Certification Jury :

The certification jury establishes the list of successful and deferred candidates based on the minutes of the jury. The jury may use evaluation elements from the candidate's journey within the certifying or title-preparing institution.

Enrollment Modalities

The training program is accessible based on the assessment by the admissions personnel after reviewing the application (verification of prerequisites and, if applicable, ECTS credits already obtained) and then through an interview to check and validate the suitability of the candidate's profile for the professions targeted by the training.

The interview focuses on:

The alignment of the candidate's professional project with the training program.
The candidate's interest in the fashion sector.
Artistic and graphic sensitivity.

Prerequisites

Target Audience:

Graduates of general, technological, or vocational baccalaureate.

For entry into the 2nd year of the Bachelor in Fashion Design Styling - 3D Design Specialty: Completion and validation of the first year of higher education (60 ECTS) in fashion design.

For entry into the 3rd year of the Bachelor in Fashion Design Styling - 3D Design Specialty: Completion and validation of two years of higher education (120 ECTS) in fashion design.

Specific Exemptions:

If the candidate does not have the required professional experience or diploma, they must present a portfolio demonstrating their ability to validate the professional certification (VAP, employer's certificate, or other proofs of professional, personal, or associative experience leading to the acquisition of related competencies). This approach is similar to a Mixed VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience).

Students are expected to have a strong interest in fashion, motivation, and a desire to learn!
